Probe Incessant Grid Collapse, Tinubu Told

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called on President Bola Tinubu to investigate the recurring collapse of Nigeria’s national power grid.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye, a former Osun lawmaker, described the frequent grid collapses as embarrassing. He emphasized that electricity supply is essential for business operations and economic growth, adding that the continued grid failures are negatively impacting businesses across the country.

“I believe a Presidential investigation into this matter will uncover the root causes and provide lasting solutions,” Oyintiloye stated. “Nigeria is blessed with all the resources needed to keep the grid operational, so why do these collapses continue?”

He called for an end to the embarrassment, urging that sanity be restored to the power sector for the sake of the economy. If sabotage is found to be a factor, he insisted that an investigation would expose it.
