Hippopotamus Kills 60-Year- Old Guard In Kebbi

Malam Usman MaiGida has been Killed by an Hippopotamus at tillo village in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Late Usman who was a security guard at the Orchard Farms owned by the Emir of Yauri, Muhammad Zayyanu, met his untimely death when the Hippopotamus attacked him while fishing.

It was gathered that the dangerous animal perceived that the 60-year-old man was an endangered specie, who intentionally came to harm its baby, hence the attack against him in self defense.

Malam Usman has been buried according to Islamic rites in Yauri after a funeral prayer.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor Ahmed Idris, the Governor was sad and has condoled with the Yauri Emirate and urged the emirate and members of the immediate family to take heart and accept the will of God Almighty in good faith.
