Zamfara Empowerment: Women Petty Traders Get N50,000 Renewed Hope Support Of First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu
One thousand women Petty Traders in Zamfara State have been provided with fifty thousand Naira (N50,000), to recapitalise and grow their businesses.
The Wife of the Governor of Zamfara State, Hurriya Lawal, who handed over the money to women petty traders across the fourteen Local Government Areas of the State; said it was through the renewed Hope Economic Empowerment Programme of the Nigerian First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.
Wife of the Zamfara State Governor Hurriya Lawal said ⁰the grant was aimed at overcoming challenges faced by women petty traders, expanding their businesses, creating more jobs and contributing robustly to the economy.
She noted that they recognize that empowering economically is not just a moral imperative but a strategic one, stressing that when they thrive, their families thrive, and by, extension, the society.
Hurriya Lawal applauded the efforts of women petty traders as they have shown incredible resilience in overcoming myriad of challenges, describing them as the heart of the economy, the foundation of communities and heroes of the Nation.

Said empowering one thousand women petty traders initiative is a clear commitment of the wife of the Governor to uplift women in Zamfara State.
He added that the initiative is in line with the rescue mission agenda of the present administration in fighting poverty, unemployment and to ensure people become self reliant.
The wife of Zamfara State Governor Hurriya Lawal visited the Local Government Areas of the State to distribute the fifty thousand Naira to the women petty traders and believes the initiative will impact many families positively in the State.
