Veteran boxing promoter Frank Warren has boldly predicted a knockout finish in the upcoming IBF heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, tipping his fighter Dubois to emerge victorious.

The highly anticipated bout, set for September 21 at Wembley Stadium, will see Dubois defend his IBF world title against former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua in front of what is expected to be a record crowd.

Warren, speaking to BoxingScene, expressed confidence in Dubois’ ability to overcome the challenge posed by Joshua.

“He gets countered easy, and I’ll tell you something, that will be the telling point,” the Hall of Fame promoter said.

The 71-year-old believes the fight’s outcome will hinge on how each fighter reacts to the first solid punch landed saying, “Whoever gets clipped, how they react to it. Not to be knocked out, but the first solid punch that lands. How do they react to it?”

He further predicted that if Joshua goes on the defensive after being hit, it would play into Dubois’ hands.

“I think Joshua will go on the back foot if he gets caught and if he goes on the back foot, that’s my man’s fight,” Warren added.

Dubois enters the bout in impressive form, coming off two excellent stoppage victories over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic. The 25-year-old champion’s recent performances have bolstered Warren’s confidence in his ability to upset the more experienced Joshua.

However, opinions in the boxing world remain divided. Several boxers, including European champion Tyler Denny and former world champions Liam Smith and Josh Warrington, have backed Joshua to reclaim the title.

Denny cited Joshua’s power as a decisive factor, while Smith believes Joshua’s style is better suited for this matchup.

Warrington pointed to Joshua’s renewed confidence following his recent string of victories.

In contrast, Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang has tipped Dubois to cause an upset.

“I personally favour Daniel Dubois to pull this off because he’s on a surge. He’s young, he’s hungry, he has the fire in him,” Zhang told BoxNation.

The clash between Joshua and Dubois has generated significant interest, with both fighters carrying knockout power and hungry for victory. As the September 21 showdown approaches, fans and pundits alike are eagerly anticipating what promises to be one of the most exciting heavyweight battles of the year.
