New Fulham signing, Emile Smith Rowe, has dedicated his first goal for the club to Nigerian duo Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, whom he said have helped him settle at Craven Cottage.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder joined the Cottagers from Arsenal for a reported club-record £34m fee, penning a five-year deal with Marco Silva’s side.

The England international came on for the second half in Fulham’s friendly pre-season game against Chidera Ejuke’s Sevilla at the Estádio Do Algarve.

He pulled one back for his side in the 52nd minute, helping them cut the deficit by a goal since Isaac Romero scored two for the Spanish side in the first half.

Speaking after the game, Smith Rowe had his interview interfered with by Bassey and Iwobi.

“These two, honestly, they’re jokers. I love my new teammates, and I’ve settled in well.

I feel comfortable. I dedicate my goal to you two because I think you welcomed me into the team,” the London-born midfielder said to the Super Eagles duo.

Fulham kick off their Premier League campaign at Old Trafford in ten days, taking on Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United.
