Ethnic tensions are high in Lagos after the campaign started on social media under the hashtag #IgboMustGo.

Here are 10 things to know about the group behind the campaign.

1.The group operates on X, formerly Twitter, under the name Lagospedia.

2.It claims to be proclaiming the virtues of Lagos.

3.It has no fewer than 41,700 followers.

4.The handlers have consistenly propagated hate tweets against the Igbo.

5.On July 27, the page tweeted a picture of bodies it claimed were Igbo.

6.On July 27, the group urged Yoruba to prepare for #IgboMustGo protest to commence on August 20 and end August 30.

7.On July 29, it warned all Igbo resident in Lagos to leave.

8.The handle claims that the Igbo were responsible for the #EndSARS protests that turned violent.

9.It also claims the Igbo are spearheading the #EndBadGovernance protest.

Prior to the #EndBadGovernance protest, the group announced that Oro (traditional rites) would be observed in various communities across Lagos from August 1 to August 15,making critics to call the exercise ‘Political Oro’.
