TUC begins nationwide mobilisation for strike over planned fuel subsidy removal

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC has directed its members nationwide to begin mobilisation for protest and Industrial action, should the Federal Government fail to meet organised labour’s conditions on planned fuel subsidy removal.

TUC President, Quadri Olaleye at a briefing in Abuja on Saturday at the end of its National Executive Council meeting says the Federal Government must implement organised labour’s position on fixing the country’s refineries.

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC had earlier directed its members to mobilise for a nationwide protest from Thursday, February 27.

TUC also called for a review of the power sector privatisation.

On the 2023 general elections, the TUC is asking eligible Nigerians to obtain their permanent voter’s card, PVC to upset any unperforming government.
