Fresh crisis hits SDP with sack of Acting National Chairman and Secretary

A fresh crisis is brewing in the Social Democratic Party, SDP, as some members of the National Executive Committee, NEC have suspended the Acting National Chairman, Olu Ogunloye and the National Secretary, Shehu Gabam.
The NEC held an emergency meeting in Abuja to take the decision days after the Ogunloye-led executive suspended the Deputy National Chairman (North) Abdul Ishaq.
NEC members of the party say they have observed what they described as disregard of the provision of the party’s constitution following the suspension of national officers by the Olu Ogunloye-led leadership.
The Committee subsequently voided the suspension of the Deputy National Chairman (north) Abdul Ishaq and appointed him as the party’s new national chairman.
However, the purportedly suspended Acting National Chairman and National Secretary described the action as a show of shame.
They called on Nigerians to disregard any action from the group led by Abdul Ishaq.
