Zamfara Politics: APC Marafa’s faction dissociates self from allegations of insecurity against Gen. Gusau Rtd.

The Senator Kabiru Marafa-led faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Zamfara State under the Chairmanship of Sirajo Maikatako has categorically condemned the allegation of associating the State of insecurity with General Aliyu Gusau who owns over 70 percent mining sites in the State.
The faction said it considers the allegations as baseless, careless and irresponsible.
Senator Kabiru Marafa’s faction distanced itself from the allegations against the retired general.
It was quoted as saying, “our understanding of the formation and character of the three factions of APC in the state vis-a-vis the contents of the briefing from which the reports were developed points to the action as a product of the crafty government faction that depends on blackmail, propaganda and witch-hunt to survive”.
In a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the Senator Kabiru Marafa’s faction of the APC, Bello Bakyasuwa called on the media to do well to indicate clearly the faction of APC from where they sourced the content of their publications.
The statement said for the record, Zamfara State so far has three factions of APC namely Former Governor Yari-led faction; Senator Marafa-led faction; and Governor Bello Mohammed-led faction in the order of their formation since the lingering crisis that characterised the party from 2019 to date.
It appealed to the professional standing of the media to properly label reports with their relevant factions to avoid misguided attributions.
The faction called on the Bello Mohammed-led faction of APC which Yusuf Idris represents to moderate their desperation and accord due respect to elder statesmen by avoiding cowardly and escapist statements against their persons.
The statement said the faction considered the action of Yusuf as too brazen and given to easy defamation on the hard earned character of a senior citizen like General Aliyu Gusau who served the nation at different levels of note including the position of National Security Adviser.
It advised Governor Bello Mohammed to minimise his endless national and international trips to stay in the state to focus on supervising the various operations of the Nigerian army against the bandits to ensure the restoration of peace and Stability in the State.
